Muffled Message

Deep in the recess a voice screams
muffled words
Familiar but incomprehensible
Straining to hear the words
the message feels familiar
but no clarity
The tone is hope
optimism
Patience my son it’ll work out
Synapses don’t fail me now
because I need to know the words.

Haiku Triplet

A small voice out back
Reminds me of something I know,
Something I relearned.

Things will get better
When I do what I must do,
What I have to do.

Action has begun.
The pros will battle it out.
I’ll get my life back.

Fall

Shadows approach from different directions,
A chill caresses with no touch,
The fall voice speaks with new inflections,
Few words say so much.

Time slows as a recharge life prelude
Simple shades of yellow, red and gold
Fill the field of vision, enhance the mood.
Let fall rejuvenate your soul

Sunrise

Two on the beach at sunrise
Face each other
Eyes gaze deep into eyes
Finger tips touch finger tips
gently
Wet lips caress wet lips
softly
Tongue tip traces teeth
slowly
A long, warm hug
Hearts beat in tandem
slightly faster
Sun on the horizon
Something else too.

Destiny Lesson

I wrote the original version of this a long time ago and published this version of it on this blog almost two years ago. I am republishing it today for personal reasons but also because it seems especially relevant at the beginning of a year when we look back and ahead.

Why do we forget
lessons learned about
life
love
friendships
relationships?

Are we destined to repeat
our failures forever,
forgetting to comprehend the mistakes
that send us
on this endless
loop of broken hearts
and false starts?

Why can’t we move on,
not in failure,
but in anticipation of the success
our new knowledge can bring us
in new relationships
friendships
loves
life?
